Modern Fiction Studies
MFS publishes theoretically engaged and historically informed articles on modernist and contemporary fiction. The journal's substantial book review section keeps readers informed about current scholarship in the field. MFS alternates general issues with special issues focused on individual novelists or topics that challenge and expand the concept of "modern fiction." Recent special issues have included "J. R. R. Tolkien" (guest-edited by Shaun F. D. Hughes), "Modernism's Jews/Jewish Modernism" (guest-edited by Maren Linett), "Paris, Modern Fiction, and the Black Atlantic" (guest-edited by Jonathan P. Eburne and Jeremy Braddock), "Toni Morrison," and "Graphic Narrative" (guest-edited by Hillary Chute and Marianne DeKoven). Future special issues include "Elizabeth Bowen" and "Levinas and Narrative."
