Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved (JHCPU)

Focusing on contemporary health care issues of medically underserved communities, the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved (JHCPU) is the official journal of the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU). A peer-reviewed publication, JHCPU addresses such diverse areas as health care access, quality, costs, legislation, regulations, health promotion, and disease prevention from a U.S. perspective. Regular features include research papers and reports, literature reviews, policy analyses, and evaluations of noteworthy health care programs. A recent special issue addressed "Public Health Implications of Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma," including the DVDs: "After the Wind, Child, After the Water's Gone"; and "Voices of the Storm: Six Months After Katrina" / "Voices of the Storm: One Year after Katrina." The Journal includes an ACU column written by ACU members.
