Psychoanalysis and the Human Sciences
Founded in 1939 by Sigmund Freud and Hanns Sachs, American Imago explores the important role that psychoanalysis plays in contemporary cultural, literary, and social theory. It offers varying scholarly perspectives on the reciprocal relationship between psychoanalysis and culture and investigates the important connections between psychoanalysis and anthropology, philosophy, politics, history, art history, musicology, literary theory, and education. Recent thematic issues include: "Scars of History," "Analyzing Christianity," "Notable Encounters," "Tradition and Truth in Psychoanalysis" (Guest Editor: Rachel B. Blass), and "Mysterious Leaps."
